Description 26-G-4389: Normandy Invasion, June 1944. Coast Guard Manned LST Links British, French Railways. Out of the big steel belly of a Coast Guard-manned LST, flat freight cars of the Army Transportation Corps roll onto a railroad in France to resume the land journey to the Western Front. A track-equipped tank deck enables the big tank landing ship to serve as a floating link between the railroads in England and France, June 1944. (5/19/2015).
