English: ECOSTRESS science lead, Dr. Josh Fisher, takes a look at some water-stressed trees. Scheduled to launch in 2018, the ECOsystem Spaceborne Thermal Radiometer Experiment on Space Station (ECOSTRESS) will provide a view of water use and stress in vegetation from the vantage point of the International Space Station. With its high-resolution thermal infrared radiometer, ECOSTRESS will monitor one of the most basic processes in living plants: the loss of water through the tiny pores in leaves. ecostress.jpl.nasa.gov
