Gardner Campbell, my host, had a spiritual moment talking audio tech with the sound engineer here.

The original Rek-O-Kut was an ancient brand that went out of business in the 1960s. This unit is a modern design by Esoteric Sound, who own the brand, specifically designed for library transcription work. There's a variable-crossover phono amp suitable to various 78s as well as plain LPs.
