Summary[edit]

Description

A view looking south into New Bedford Harbor.

This is one of two dams constructed to redirect the Acushnet River from the work zone in between the Main Street and Wood/ Slocum Street bridges.

This cleanup project removed about 12,000 cubic yards of highly PCB contaminated sediment from the river bed and surrounding mud flats and shoreline areas.
