Summary

[edit]
Description

for downtown Washington, from the National Capital Planning Commission. Note cross-town K Street Expressway, freeways across the White House's South Lawn and under the Lincoln Memorial, and 395 extension to northeast, paralleling NY Ave. (I just looked at an apartment that the latter road would've wiped out.)

It's a good thing that the same plan's transit network was largely built, but the road network was only half built.
