For 1956, the grille was changed on the Ford, now rectanglular openings, rather than squares of 1955, indicators were new too. Ford also adopted the 12 volt electrical system this year . Available in Mainline (base), Customline (mid), and Fairlane (top). Post cars were the 4 door Town Sedan and the 2 door Club Sedan. Pillarless was the 4 door Town Victoria and 2 door Club Victoria. Also the Crown Victoria Coupe (with chrome band across roof), Acrylic Roof Skyliner and Convertible Sunliner, Country and Ranch Wagons, V8 Customline Sedan and Mainline Utility Produced in Australia. Engines; 223 6 cyl OHV or 162hp 272 and 193hp 292 Y block V8s |
