Description 1911年10月12日，身在美国的孙中山得知武昌起义的捷报，倍感振奋。他在积极奔走于欧美国家力图谋求外交与财政支持未果之后，决定乘船返国。12月21日，孙中山抵达香港，在船中与前来迎接的友人合影留念。这张照片本是他与日本友人山田纯三郎在船中的合影，照片中的孙中山精神抖擞、踌躇满志，展现了一位伟大革命先行者坚韧超凡的气质。孙中山对此很是满意，特意将合影中的自身形象单独裁出洗印，经常以此赠送友人。该照片是他赠送给日本好友梅屋庄吉的，上面有其亲笔签名和印章。
