Description
English: The 1897 Erie and Sturgis horseless carriage was powered by a 4 cylinder engine, of which two cylinders drove the front and rear axles, respectively.This is the first automobile driven in Los Angeles, CA., 30 May, 1897. It was designed by J. Philip Erie, and built in the S. D. Sturgis & Brother Machine Co. in Los Angeles.
