Deutsch: Eines von mehr als 87 Kupferstichen anlässlich der nach katholischem Ritus ausgeführte Bestattungs-Zeremonie für den am 21. April 1680 in der Fürstengruft des Leineschlosses in Hannover beigesetzten Herzog Johann Friedrich von Braunschweig-Lüneburg. Der hier als Doppelseite übertitelte Stich

„DIE ANDERE SEITE DER HERZOGLICHE LEICHE“

zeigt den von Baldachin-Trägern umringten Sarg des verstorbenen Monarchen hinter acht mit schwaren Decken verhängten Zug-Pferden. Das Gesamtwerk mit dem Titel

„Iusta Funebria Serenissimo Principi Joanni Friderico Brunsvicensium Et Luneburge: Duci A Revermo Et Sermo Fratre Ernesto Augusto Episcopo Osnabrugensi Duci Brunsv: Et Luneb. Persoluta“

erschien 1685 bei dem Fürstllich Hessen-Schauenburgischen Universitäts bestallten Buchdrucker Gottfried Kaspar Wächter in den Maßen 446 x 310mm. Der hier gezeigte Stich stammt aus der Provenienz des braunschweig-lüneburgischen Staatsmannes Otto Grote datiert März 1690 mit einer Geschenk-Inschrift für die Universität Helmstedt. Auch zwei Tinten-Stempel der Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel, darunter ein Ausgangs-Stempel gehört zu dem Lot, für das das Auktionshaus Christie’s um 2010 zunächst einen Schätzpreis von 2.500 bis 3.500 GBP ausrief und dann den Zuschlag bei 4.000 GBP erteilte.
