Summary[edit]
This military insignia image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{vector version available|new image name}} .
It is recommended to name the SVG file “156 Inf Rgt DUI.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter. |
Description156 Inf Rgt DUI.gif |
English: U.S. 156th Infantry Regimental Coat of Arms The Regimental Coat of Arms (of the 156th Infantry), approved 12 October 1951, is the heraldic representation of the history, tradition, spirit, and loyalty of the unit. By means of the symbolic color of blue, the shield reflects the Regiment's service in the Infantry. the saltire (St. Andrew's Cross), formerly borne on Confederate battle flags, indicates the unit's Confederate heritage; while the leopard, taken from the arms of Normandy, depicts the Regiment's service in Northern France during the Second World War. The motto "Dieu et Moi" means "God and I".. |
