English: This image depicts what had been the initial vaccination site in the case of the patient whose right hand was depicted in PHIL 14253. This was a case of progressive vaccinia, also known as vaccinia necrosum, and despite intensive treatment, this patient died, and was found to have a deficiency in her cellular immunity mechanism. |
