Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 11 o'clock shadow. The shadow cast by the near 30 feet tall obelisk 528838near Elie House. No one seems to be sure what it commemorates. Some locals say it was in memory of a battle, others that it was to mark the union of Scotland and England, while some assert that it only marks the burial-place of a favourite dog! My favourite version of the story is that it was built in honour of a horse (warhorse rather than racehorse) that belonged to one of the Anstruther family.
