English: Staff Sgt. David Conner, right, delivers his final words to his team before beginning their seventh convoy escort mission from the border crossing of Kuwait and Iraq, Oct. 27, 2011. Conner, from Apple Valley, Minn., is on his second deployment. “This might be our last mission before leave.” Waiting in Minnesota are his wife, Beck, and his three children, David, Ben, and Tyberious. In their first 90 days, the 1st Squadron, 94th Cavalry "Iron Rangers," 1st Brigade, 34th Infantry Division "Red Bulls" provided nearly 700,000 miles of convoy security missions for the drawdown from Iraq. The Iron Rangers average three times as many missions as their predecessors in support of Operation New Dawn. |
