Português: Carlos Magno (742-814) O Museu Nacional Germânico de Nuremberga, Germanisches Nationalmuseum, foi fundado em 1852, pelo barão e antiquário Hans von Aufsess (1801-1872) e abriga o maior acervo do país de objetos relacionados com a cultura e arte alemãs, numa coleção de milhão e meio de peças, que se estende desde os tempos pré-históricos até os dias de hoje. As atuais instalações integram a antiga abadia e convento da Cartuxa de Nuremberga (Kartäuserkloster), dissolvida em 1525 e posteriormente utilizada para uma variedade de finalidades seculares. O moderno e arrojado projeto deve-se ao arquiteto Jan Störmer (1942-), executado entre 1988 e 1993, integrando o remanescente da antiga Abadia Cartuxa numa edificação de 3 e 4 pisos. |
