Description

Hazare Rama, or thousand avatars of Vishnu, is one of many Hindu temples in Vijayanagara Karnataka. The carvings show different scenes of the Hindu Epic Ramayana.

These bas reliefs, carved before the arrival of Islam in South Asia, also show a spectrum of musical instruments, dance mudras (pose), arts, dress and other cultural elements of Hindus in Vijayanagar Karnataka India. These are used to express the scenes from Ramayana.
