বাংলা: সন্ত্রাস বিরোধী রাজু স্মারক ভাস্কর্য ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের টি এস সি প্রাঙ্গনে অবস্থিত ঢাকার একটি অন্যতম প্রধান ভাস্কর্য নিদর্শন। এটি ১৯৯৭ এর শেষভাগে তৈরি হয়। ভাস্কর্যে কিছু ছাত্র হাতে হাত বেঁধে একটি চক্র তৈরী করেছে। অনেকে মনে করে এটি '৫২ বা '৭১ নিয়ে কোনো প্রতীক। বিষয়টা মোটেও তা নয়।

১৯৯২ সালের ১৩ই মার্চ গণতান্ত্রিক ছাত্র ঐক্যের সন্ত্রাস বিরোধী মিছিল চলাকালে সন্ত্রাসীরা গুলি করলে মিছিলের নেতৃত্বদানকারী বাংলাদেশ ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের কেন্দ্রীয় নেতা মঈন হোসেন রাজু নিহত হন। রাজুসহ সন্ত্রাস বিরোধী আন্দোলনের সকল শহীদের স্মরণে নির্মিত এই ভাস্কর্য ১৭ই সেপ্টেম্বর, ১৯৯৭ সালে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের তৎকালীন উপাচার্য এ. কে. আজাদ চৌধুরী উদ্বোধন করেন। এই ভাস্কর্য নিমার্ণে জড়িত শিল্পীরা ছিলেন ভাস্কর শ্যামল চৌধুরী ও সহযোগী গোপাল পাল। নির্মাণ ও স্থাপনের অর্থায়নে ছিলেন - ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রাক্তন শিক্ষক আতাউদ্দিন খান (আতা খান) ও মুন্সীগঞ্জ-বিক্রমপুর সমিতির সভাপতি, লায়ন নজরুল ইসলাম খান বাদল। ভাস্কর্যটির সার্বিক তত্ত্বাবধানে রয়েছে বাংলাদেশ ছাত্র ইউনিয়ন। এই ভাস্কর্যে ৮ জনের অবয়ব ফুটিয়ে তোলা হয়েছে। যাদের প্রতিকৃতি ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে তারা হলেন মুনীম হোসেন রানা, শাহানা আক্তার শিলু, সাঈদ হাসান তুহিন, আবদুল্লাহ মাহমুদ খান, তাসফির সিদ্দিক, হাসান হাফিজুর রহমান সোহেল, উৎপল চন্দ্র রায় ও গোলাম কিবরিয়া রনি।

আজ ২৭ বছর পরে আমরা ভুলেই গিয়েছি কেন এই ভাস্কর্য নির্মিত হয়েছিলো। এখনো শিক্ষাঙ্গনে একই পরিস্থিতি বিরাজ করছে। হয়ত আমাদের একটু স্মৃতিচারণ প্রয়োজন!

English: Anti-Terror Raju Memorial Sculpture is one of the major sculptures in Dhaka located on the TSC premises of Dhaka University. It was created in late 1997. In sculpture some students have created a circle by tying hands. Many people think it is a symbol of '52 or '71. That is not the point at all. Moin Hossain Raju, the central leader of the Bangladesh Chhatra Union, who led the procession, was shot dead by terrorists on March 13, 1992, during an anti-terror procession of the Democratic Student Unity. This sculpture was made in memory of all the martyrs of the anti-terrorism movement including Raju. K. Azad Chowdhury inaugurated. The artists involved in making this sculpture were sculptor Shyamal Chowdhury and collaborator Gopal Pal. The construction and installation was financed by Atauddin Khan (Ata Khan), a former teacher at Dhaka University, and Lion Nazrul Islam Khan Badal, president of the Munshiganj-Bikrampur Association. The sculpture is under the overall supervision of Bangladesh Students Union. This sculpture depicts the faces of 6 people. The portraits used are Munim Hossain Rana, Shahana Akter Shilu, Saeed Hasan Tuhin, Abdullah Mahmud Khan, Tasfir Siddique, Hasan Hafizur Rahman Sohel, Utpal Chandra Roy and Golam Kibria Rony.

Today, 26 years later, we have forgotten why this sculpture was made. The same situation is still prevailing in the campus.
