Description
Русский: Смоленская площадь в 1930-х. Исторически, на этом месте был Смоленский рынок (снесен в 1920-е годы); его строения физически отделяли площадь от Садового кольца. Смоленской площадью в точном смысле же и тогда назывался, и ныне называется отрезок Садового кольца, уходящий направо (со временем почти всё её протяжение занял вышеупомянутый рынок). А собственно площадь - не Смоленская, а Смоленская-Сенная. Хотя в живом языке всё наоборот. Угловой дом справа - сохранился, на месте снесенного дома слева - пустырь перед зданием МИДа.
