Description
English: "Wednesday 16th [December 1874]: Bright warm day. Staid at Genarouxs shanty all day posting books. Sent Wm Diamond to Murphys shanty with Pork, Tobacco, fish & flour and he brought beef hides back with him, 23 in No. and staid over night."

"Tuesday 17th: Dark cloudy day quite warm. Rained a little about Eleven OClock a.m. Had dinner at Genarouxs about one OClock. T. Roach & T. McConnell came to shanty gave up the books to Roach and left for Welshes shanty road with McConnell. Stopt at Genarouxs new shanty on road met Wm Diamond comeing from Welshes with hides. Snowed quite heavy in afternoon. Staid at Welshes over night."
"Friday 18th: Dark cloudy day. Snowed quite heavy. Butter & Baker come to Welshes about 1/2 past 2 p.m. Went with Butter and Bajin to Murphys. Bajin went after window sash to Pages Depot for Genaroux and staid over night at Murphys. Murphy building stable. Ward rendering out tallow. Staid overnight."
"Saturday 19th: Dark cloudy morning snowed some. Left Murphys shanty with Butter & Murphy. Bajin went a head with sash. Tim Harrigan carried bag of clothes &c down to creek for Welshes shanty. Butter & Murphy went to Choppers. I left them and carried the bag to Welshes shanty about 11 a.m. Butter & Murphy come to Welshes. Had dinner and Baker & Butter left for home. Murphy left about one O'Clock. Drum came to shanty with McConnell. Gave Butter orders to pay a/c against 3 of Welshes men at Marlows."
