Description

This fine, multi storey, building with a Royal coat of arms on the pediment should be readily identifiable - yet it remains labelled as unidentified in the NLI archives. Now is the chance to begin the week on a positive note, and put a name and a place on it for us! Any takers?

And so we know that this is Belfast's Theatre Royal, captured after it's 1871 opening, and before the 1881 fire which damaged its triangular pediment. While the building we see here was demolished and replaced in the 20th century, the 'spirit' of the triangular pediment remains in its replacement...
