Description
English: "Monday 30th [November 1874]: Bright cold day left Murhpy Shanty about one Oclock with James Ward. Walked to Welshes Shanty distance 4 miles ward went down the creek to Mellon's Depot for rivit links. Got to Welshes Shanty about 3 p.m. James Brenman in Shanty with his 2 feet frozen. John Archy laid up sick."

"Tuesday December 1st 1874: Dark stormy day snowed all day. Staid at Welshes shanty posting books men laid up about two hours after dinner with storm."
"Wednesday 2nd 1874: Fine warm day but cloudy wroked four noon at Welshes shanty pasting books. Rode from Wlshes to Genarouxs shanty with Chas Bearan met his two sons on theway coing after him one of his children verry sick with sore throat. Rec $25.00 cash from R Rayburn & a/c $15.90."
"Thursday 3rd: Dark cloudy day rained about noon went from Genarouxs to Mellons Depot in the fournoon and copied all a/c for and against different shantys. Eat dinner at Mellons. Raining quite when going to Shanty Young McElroy in with load for Murphys & axes for Genaroux."
