Transcribed from photograph: "Cascades of the Columbia. Str. Bailey Gatzert." Built by John J. Holland, launched Nov. 22, 1890. Sailed between Seattle and Olympia until 1892. On Columbia River 1892-1918. On Puget Sound 1918-1928. In 1928 converted to a floating machine shop.
