Info Sunset at Porto Covo, west coast of Portugal. Yes, it is a risky nomination and will probably end when someone finds a much better example of this scope. If that happens, good! Anyway, I suspect there will be some discussion around this one...

  •  Support Extremely difficult to assess as there are hundreds if not thousands of sunsets on Commons. The very best generally have some sort of foreground interest as well as the sun and clouds, but that is pretty well exluded by the clever scope of the nomination. I have spent quite a while searching, and can't find anything better within this scope. --MichaelMaggs 06:41, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Support Surprisingly, I agree with Michael. I never thought I'd vote for a sunset on VIC, but, why not, you need something to illustrate a sunset at sea and this is the best I've seen (I think). Rocket000 18:31, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You don't need to be surprised that you agree with me :) --MichaelMaggs 18:22, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose The only difference between sunset at sea and sunset at field, for example, is that at sea one could see a sun glitter, which is not shown at the image. --Mbz1 21:03, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with that as a statement of fact, but I do not understand why that merits an oppose. I assume you are opposing on crierion 2 (scope), but it would be interesting to have a fuller explanation. The scope seems neither too narrow nor too broad, and it is perfectly possible that somebody would want to search for an image within precisely this scope. --MichaelMaggs 06:37, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am opposing because IMO the image is a bad illustration of sunset at sea. It does not illustrate sun glitter, which is the only difference between sunset at sea and sunset at field.--Mbz1 13:09, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
