  •  Comment In 1909 a recent Natica-species from the Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia, was described under the same name Natica crassa by Shepman. Being a junior homonym, the latter (recent) species was renamed as Natica shepmani n. n. in 1927 by Finley (see: Finley, H.J. (1927): New Specific Names for Austral Mollusca; Transactions and Proceedings of the Royal Society of New Zealand, Vol. 57, p. 499.) The fossil specimems of Nyst and the recent ones of Shepman are not conspecific and should not be confused. -- Llez (talk)
