Comment Yes, but those are all African bush (or savanna) elephants, not desert elephants - very different animals with distinct behaviours. One interesting difference (I was told and have observed) is that desert elephants are much more gentle with the trees they eat as there are so few around. Also, the desert elephant covers its young with branches while they sleep - I've not seen this with the African bush elephant. Charles (talk) 09:20, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
