Fine scene right at the end of the period of large-scale round-ups (the most iconic kind). Note that, despite common use, a round-up and a cattle drive are different things - you round-up cattle, then drive them to the destination. Category is new; may not be complete, but I tried. Surprisingly, despite the image being over 110 years old, geocoding was entirely possible, and, indeed, was doable to a high degree of accuracy once I managed to identify which of several things named Cimarron in and around Colorado that the ranch name referred to. See that white spot on the mountain? It's pretty distinct, even from slightly different angles. -- Adam Cuerden (talk) |
