  •  Oppose upon re-listening and reevaluating it. The technical quality of the recording is definitely existent, but per Mr. Fish, the intonation and of the performer is noticeably subpar to that of a well-trained professional. ― Gerifalte Del Sabana 16:51, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Oppose - The violinist and at one point the cellist have shaky intonation, so I'm not sure whether we should feature this as an example of a great recording - the quality of the rendition has to be relevant to whether it's a great recording or not. Can we have a Valuable Sound category analogous to Valuable Images? That's where I think this should be put. However, before I'd support that nomination, I also have a problem with the documentation. If you're going to list the names of the instrumentalists, you need to make it clear who is playing which instrument. The composition date is given as "[19--]", which is strange if Glinka lived from 1804-1857, and no year of release is given for this recording. Perhaps the abbreviation "B.v." is significant, but I have no idea what it means and I seriously doubt it's a standard discographic abbreviation. A bit of web searching hasn't turned up any obvious relevant meaning for it. Bound volume, perhaps? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:18, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Ikan Kekek, why you did not try the site of w:National Library of Latvia? See this page with information about recording. --Andrew Krizhanovsky (talk) 08:08, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, but: (a) that page should be linked from the file description. Expecting people to look it up is like asking them to Google to find out the name and artist for a painting, rather than clearly documenting it on a file page for a reproduction of a painting. (b) How about copying the basic information from there to the file page? (c) Who is Braga Gaetano, and how is s/he relevant to this recording? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:15, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks, much better. However, the performance date is still given as "[19--]". Also, I'm sure you'll understand that I will still oppose because of the disturbing performance. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:03, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
