I've taken into account the suggestions made and will keep them in mind whilst busily editing. Don't think I won't be back though! :-) --Pumpmeup 07:27, 26 October 2007 (UTC) Hi everyone! My name is Ben and I'm here requesting additional ways to help out. So far here I admittedly only have around 400 edits at time of writing, but I doubt that will be a problem. I've gradually expanded my work here at the commons, starting out participating in FPC's, then moving on to closing them, then moving on to reviewing Flickr images quite recently (I'm a trusted user). In my efforts there I have come across many pages that are obviously candidates for deletion. If granted the tools I would put them to work mainly deleting obvious images for deletion, and dealing with any issues at the administrators noticeboard needing the buttons. I'm a big believer in asking for help (unlike many men I will ask a supermarket staff member where something is instead of spending half a day searching), and would definetely do so as an administrator-in-training, getting outside opinions for situations where I'm not 100% confident. I reckon I'm well versed in the appropriate policies, guidelines and goals, etc. I'm ready and willing to participate in any backlogs, etc needing a sysop's attention. On the English Wikipedia I have around 4,500 edits. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to vote! --Pumpmeup 03:22, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ok - thanks for the en wp info. Reviewing it and your contributions here I do not feel that you are ready for admin tools here so I  Oppose this. However stick around and do more of what you are doing so that folk can get to know you more, then see how you feel. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 11:40, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Comment isn't that a wee bit harsh? What I'm trying to get across here is that I've been quickly expanding my scope of work, and have found an area that obviously needs help - more active admins. I would be concerned on low interaction levels if I actually hadn't talked to people, didn't have the en.wikipedia account and put my hand up for partaking in sysop activities that involved a great deal of user interaction. The latter I purposely would not start out with until I gain more trust. --Pumpmeup 11:47, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose - sorry, but actually I have no good feelings to give you admin-tools. Marcus Cyron 17:13, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Question Do you guys honestly believe I will use the tools in any other way than helpfully and with the best intentions? Have I demonstrated that I would abuse/misuse the tools? A=No big deal - I honestly want to help --Pumpmeup 02:05, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Youre promlems at de:WP seem to say other things. To start with an new Account isn't a thing of minor problems. If there were really only minor problems I must have problems with your fickleness. Marcus Cyron 19:00, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is there something wrong with having fun and making a new account? I'm hardly likely to do that as an admin. --Pumpmeup 20:56, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah - I probably overreacted a bit - cheers :-) --Pumpmeup 07:20, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose Reviewing your contributions here on Commons I do not have the impression that you are ready for adminship on Commons. Please participate more in the Commons (apart from the featured pics section) and User talk namespaces and apply again at a later point in time. --ALE! ¿…? 09:40, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Question where do you suggest I participate more? --Pumpmeup 10:11, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just participate in the deletion requests or tag images which are missing the source or just interact more with other users. --ALE! ¿…? 12:21, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok - thanks for the suggestion, I guess with time I might make that part of my rounds. But in the mean time, deletion requests are not really an area in which I would do much work in as an admin at present- what I meant to say in my blurb was that I would delete the many images for speedy deletion. I'm not sure how I could improve my interaction with other users - I tend to do alot of discussion with others and voting, etc at FPC, and with Flickrreviewing, also take a look at my talk page logs. Admittedly could be better - but I intend to do admin work that others cannot be bothered doing - the boring, hermit-crab style, solitary stuff. Cheers, --Pumpmeup 02:47, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The areas I mentioned were only examples. (BTW: FPC is not really a priority for me, when I consider someone for adminship.) At the moment I just do not see much involvement in admin related tasks and only few interaction with other users. --ALE! ¿…? 08:00, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose Sorry, based on English Wikipedia actions. / Fred J 14:10, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose too few interactions with the community. I echo everyone else's comments on what you should do; please heed the advice, and come back after a few months for reconsideration. O2 () 04:19, 26 October 2007 (GMT)

On wikipedia, I would of course oppose myself with only a month or so of editing. But I am well versed in wikimedia projects, having contributed to wikipedia heavily over the past 18 months. I believe that I've well and truly shown a willingness to help and will be useful as a sysop. It couldn't be a bad thing if a user comes in strong and starts editing prolifically from the word go! --Pumpmeup 10:23, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Check again under w:User:Gregfitzy (contribs/count), my last username. I decided to start afresh after past minor mistakes (which I learned from) came back to annoy me, and I thought it would be good time to edit in just the right places. Actually, when I check it I only have 4,00 edits, not 4,500 - sorry. --Pumpmeup 10:23, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Rather quickly but who is w:User:Bennyboyz3000 then? --Herby talk thyme 10:39, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, me. Bennyboyz3000 renamed => Gregfitzy then account ditched. Bennyboyz3000 recreated again to prevent impersonation, userpages left deleted for mysterious flair --Pumpmeup 10:53, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
