As an active member and sysop on de.wikisource.org, a project with focus on quality transcriptions, he has done over 20.000 edits for the benefit of this project on Wikimedia Commons. He also runs the account User:GerWsUpload (with bot flag, almost 100.000 uploads). As an administrator he could fix mistakes and do other maintenance work more easily.

- To delete accidental uploads, to delete files with bad names and duplicates, same with categories. Don't you think there's enough to do for someone who uploaded over 110.000 files? ––Polarlys 23:26, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
