Summary[edit]

Description
English: On the 23rd October 1940, Mrs J Fleming wrote to Herbert Morrison at the Ministry of Security to complain about the conditions in her Air Raid shelter which she visited daily during the Blitz. Her letter shows a very personal account of her experience during the bombings as well as some description of her neighbours. Her charming illustrations and emotive descriptions show a lesser told story of an ordinary resident of London during World War Two.
