English: "Entire crew are infected. That figure isn’t official, but is as close as I can compute it. Marines, it seems, can adapt themselves to any sort of climate and any kind of woman, so long as she has two legs and the other feminine appendages. In Chinwangtao, where I went ashore as a member of the pay guard, we found them living with, or “shacking up” as they call it, White Russians, Chinese and Japanese.
The Japanese have governmental brothels that follow the army where ever it goes. They also issue their troops coins that can only be used in those institutions. I saw one the other day and you don’t have to stretch your imagination a great deal to decipher the figures on it. Four positions are given on it but I suppose" From the Edward L.
