English: "And afraid to turn in to the hospital list they take me out of the school.
I finally got my warrant and am now a non-commissioned officer. God only knows how long I’ll stay one. I hope I can get some leave before I leave for Cuba, because no one down here seems to know how long we’ll stay. If I do manage to get some you can count on seeing me around the first of October. Write and let me know how the farm is panning out and I’ll write very soon. In fact I think I’ll go over to Savannah this week end, hire a room and just write letter. Love, Edward Corporal Edward L.
