English: "15 December 1944
Dear Dad: Received your very interesting letter, of 4 December, about three days ago and was very glad to hear from you. I have fully recovered from my binge with no lasting effects of either women or liquor, although I might get married when the war is over, and I am well squared away with what I intend to do. I fully expect the war to go on for another two or three years so there will be no wedding bells in the very near future. Inasmuch as I intend to stay out until the War is over the girl I have in mind will probably get tired of waiting and that will be that." From the Edward L.
