English: "Shot at it.
Toward morning it started to drizzle and at day break it was a tropical downpour. At eight o’clock Battery “7” withrew, its position made untenable by incessant aerial attack and inclement weather. We did not return with our heads “bloody but unbowed”, but rather wet, tired, dirty, hungry and well eaten up. Needless to say the mosquitos harassed our evacuation operations, and were on hand to greet us on the return to camp. They’re still here. Love, Ed P.S.
