| Description |
English: "Hardly enough to make the necessary preparations, but to further complicate matters I was in the hospital when the radiogram was received. Now there was nothing of a serious nature wrong with me, but after living for over a month in mud holes and jungles I was becoming obsessed with the thought of a dry, clean bed with some fairly decent meals. If you remember I have a very slight varococele of the left testicle so I betook myself to the Battalion doctor with a very impressive list of imaginary symptoms. The good doctor listened to my complains, examined the source of the trouble, and ticketed me to the Base Hospital for “immediate operation”."
