Summary

[edit]
Description

As a commander of the engineer regiment in Litoměřice and Terezín he participated in the building of the Czechoslovak border fortifications. During the Protectorate he joined in the members of the Defense of Nation. He held here the post of military commander for the districts Rychnov nad Kněžnou, Nové Město nad Metují and Náchod. In the spring of 1940 he had to go into illegality, but his departure abroad was thwarted by his arresting. After two years of germain imprisonment, he was sentenced to death in January 1943, and executed in Berlin in Plötzensee in May 1943. After the World War II he was promoted (in memoriam) to the rank of the brigadier general.
