Summary[edit]

Description

John Day, Sr. wrote this v-mail to his 9 month old son in response to one he had received for Father's Day.

"Dear Son, I was a very surprised and happy father to receive the "V" mail from you yesterday. Also received a father's day card, the first one that I have ever gotten. You tell your Mommy that I did see the moving picture that you sent me and I have written to tell her all about it. I am quite surprised that you should try to eat the flowers that I sent your mother. I guess she doesn't feed you enough what with you thinking it necessary to eat dog biscuits and rose petals. Tell her I said that, will you? I can see that you have a nice warm climate back there in Watertown to be taking 2 baths a day. Out here it is so cold and Daddy has to force himself to take his not to frequent showers. That is all right, for as long as mother isn't around to complain about us dirty menfolk no harm will come of it. Unfortunately you have to carry the load for both of us. By the way I did like your pictures that the nice doctor took of you. Only thing I can't see why your mother seems to think I won't like your looks with clothes on. I am not even sure that you wear them. One of my prise snapshots was taken while you were wearing a little cap with a visor last winter. When are you going to stop waiting so much and get thin like your father. Oops end of the page so I will stop with lots of love to you son. Your father, Dad"
