[edit]DescriptionJoyce - proving the local men wrong (8076345808).jpg |
Joyce Noel Nicodemo, 35, was raised in a very male-dominated rural village in Singida region, where women work the farms but men control the profits. Joyce has managed to prove the local men wrong – she owns a three-acre farm on which she cultivates maize and beans and breeds chickens, and the produce keeps her husband and children well fed. It has also provided them with the money to build a brand new home. Her entrepreneurial spirit has also seen her open a small shop and start a small tailoring business to supplement the farming income.
