Should change to better accommodate colorblind people[edit]

Instead of red/green, use red/blue to mitigate against the most common form of colorblindness. Also, include a shape or textual descriptor in each box indicated whether the box is good or bad.

Good point. I've updated the File:Possible long-term effects of ethanol.svg image with this in mind. Let me know if there are other images with this issue as well. Mikael Häggström (talk) 19:05, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Alcohol long-term effects image[edit]

Your image File:Possible_long-term_effects_of_ethanol.svg on the article Long-term effects of alcohol consumption seems to have a bias in favour of positive long-term effects of alcohol. It contains a higher number of "generally bad" effects, yet your image shows the two "good" boxes as covering 2/3rds of the screen. The "bad" effects are in two columns, while the "good" effects are in one column, with lots of space separating the items. Additionally, several of the "good" effects under "Blood" seem to repeat themselves, such as "Reduces fibrinogen"/"Increases fibrinolysis" and "Reduced artery spasm from stress"/"Increases coronary blood flow". On a separate note, you don't keep a consistent grammar through the list items: with the "bad" effects, you only include the past participle "Increased"/"Decreased", while in the "good" effects you use "Reduces" and "Increases" as well as the other format, which almost sounds like a recommendation. Use one or the other; don't use both in this unbalanced manner. On a final note, you ignore/miss some "bad" effects, like those of sexual dysfunction, atrial fibrillation (which should also be placed in moderate consumption), gouty arthritis and skin disorders.

Also, Wernicke–Korsakoff should have a dash (–) not a hyphen (-), and "small to moderate" should have hyphens ("small-to-moderate"). SUM1 (talk) 13:13, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
