Template:VIS-gallery
Usage[edit]
This template is used for displaying Valued image sets in the main name space category structure. It shall be placed on a separate gallery page named:
Valued image set: <scope>
where <scope> is an exact copy of the scope parameter. If the template is placed on a page with a different name, links from the image pages of the images constituting the valued image sets is broken!
Besides adding this template to the gallery page, one or more parent categories pointing into the main name space category structure shall also be added explicitly after the template as well as links to other Wikimedia projets dealing with the same scope (if any)

Parameters[edit]
subpage (Required)[edit]
The subpage of the corresponding nomination page on Commons:Valued image candidates. Used for linking the Valued Image Set to the original promotion and the review.
This parameter is identical to the title parameter on the Valued image set candidate page.
ingallery (Required)[edit]
A list of the images in the gallery set, in gallery format, including an optional caption for each image. The <gallery> and </gallery> are omitted, and the usual pipe character (|) separating the image from the caption should be replaced by the pipe template {{!}}. Example:

will in the template be expanded to the gallery

which will appear in a table cell. The widths and heights optional parameters assures that each image is shown in (approximately) proper review size.
This parameter should be an exact copy of the corresponding ingallery parameter on the Valued image set candidate page.
description[edit]
Optional parameter to allow a long description. Identical to the description parameter on the Valued image set candidate page.
date_of_promotion (Required)[edit]
This is the date and time the image was promoted for VIS. Use ~~~~~ as a convenient method to get the time now. This parameter is used in the template to automatically associate the Valued image set with the correct monthly sub-category and used for sorting the sets by date of promotion.
scope (Required)[edit]
This mandatory parameter is used to specify the scope of the valued image set. See Commons:Valued image scope.
This parameter should be an exact copy of the scope parameter on the Valued image set candidate page.
