Inscriptions:

  • standard number in Russian: "ТУ-78 ЛИТ. ССР 16-77", followed by the trademark of its manufacturer: Kapsukas Strict Regime Corrective Labour Colony
  • abbreviation in the centre in Russian: "ГВ", according to the above mentioned standard this stands for Russian: "городской водопровод",City Water Main in English
  • Cyrillic letter "Т", according to the above mentioned standard it means Russian:"тяжёлый" (heavy).

The title of standard is Russian: "Люки чугунные тяжелые для смотровых колодцев" (Cast Iron Covers For Observation Manholes). It was in action in the Lithuanian SSR from 1-Jan-1977 until 1-Oct-1980. As of 2007 the colony still manufactures similar production.
