From http://cgvi.uscg.mil - caption given is "Coos Bay, Ore.(Feb 12)--Coast Guard helps avert environmental castastrophe after the bulk carrier New Carissa ran aground Feb. 4 one mile north of Coos Bay, Oregon and began to leak oil. The ship's remaining fuel was intentionally ignited to help prevent nearly 400,000 gallons of oil from reaching the shorline. USCG photo by BREWER, BRANDON"
