Translation[edit]

I’d be grateful if someone could translate the description text into French, German or English, even approximately. thanks ! Ariadacapo (talk) 14:31, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The original dutch text seems to come from another context. I would translate it as: Image of 1 of the three old Werkspoor diesels which served until 10 years ago. In total there are four of the slow runners produced by Werkspoor, three in the pumping station and one in a large seegoing tug from the early 50s. (The Dutch word gemaal which I translated into pumping station is normally used for polder pumping stations; the type that's used to keep our country dry. Without any doubt that's the setting where the picture was taken. Not sure if there's an equivalent term for gemaal in any other language than dutch. ;) Jahoe (talk) 11:56, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm backing up the original dutch text here: Afbeelding van 1 van de drie oude Werkspoor diesels welke tot voor 10 jaar geleden dienst deden. In totaal zijn er vier van de langzaamlopers geproduceerd door Werkspoor; drie in het gemaal en een in een grote zeesleper uit de begin jaren '50, as I intend to clarify it (as well as translate in into English and cleanup the file info page). Done so now. Jahoe (talk) 12:51, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Great job! I use this photo in lecture slides and having some context is tremendously helpful. Thank you... Ariadacapo (talk) 08:03, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. :) And thank you for the French translation. Jahoe (talk) 14:24, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
