I don't think this is picture depicts Mohammed I ibn Nasr. The original source of the claim is [1], which is a blog and should not be treated as an academic sources. Two academic sources contradict this:

  • [2] which says the second panel of CSM 185 depicts "A Christian and a Moorish warrior embrace. Both are armed and on horseback." Just a Moorish warrior, not Muhammad I the King of Granada himself.
  • Similarly, Alfonso X and the Cantigas De Santa Maria: A Poetic Biography by Joseph F. O'Callaghan says that the second panel depicts a Muslim alcaide embracing a Christian collaborator. Both sources mention that in this page, Muhammad I (the king of Granada) are depicted as an elderly man with white beard and red tunic, depicted in panel 3 and 5, not the second panel which depict a very young Muslim whose hairs are not whitened yet.
