Identification[edit]

Appears to be one of the three sister ships, Mobil Power (IMO 5238303, built 1957)[1], Mobil Fuel (IMO 5238212, built 1957)[2], or Mobil Lube (IMO 5238248, built 1958)[3]. All three were built at Bethlehem Steel in Quincy, Massachusetts.[4]. The photo is reversed, as the lettering is backwards. However, I can't find detailed enough photos of the ships to find any distinguishing differences, at least that can be seen in these photos. The position of the "no smoking" lettering is different than some photos of the ships, but it also seemed to change on the same ship per other photos, so not sure that can be used. You can see about a dozen images of the same ship in the archive I found these photos in, if you'd like to see those as well. Only uploaded the two. https://archive.org/details/rogervreeland.photobox Yamasztuka (talk) 01:24, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
