Identity of this waterlily[edit]

I believe this waterlily is not a Nymphaea candida. I have several reasons for this:
1. I counted 31 sepals and petals, which is slightly above the range of Nymphaea candida
2. The petals display a hint of blue colouration towards the apex. Nymphaea candida does not have any blue colouration
3. The flower has by far too many stamens. There are too many to count them, but the number surely does not fall within the range of Nymphaea candida
4. The flower is emergent and appears to be well above the water surface. Flowers of Nymphaea candida float on the water surface.
Therefore, I believe the identification in the file name is incorrect. I believe this is an Australian waterlily of Nymphaea subgenus Anecphya. Conan Wolff (talk) 14:37, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
