Travel assumptions[edit]

I made assumptions as to how this cover travelled. Don't hesitate to improve. Arno-nl (talk) 11:56, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The 22.5 postmark could be from Moscow; at least, it looks like a Soviet-type postmark. Though, we know that there was a direct flight Leningrad-Berlin as seen on the Leningrad 1930 biplane cancel and USSR 1932-09-19 airmail postal card. Whether the latter airmail connection was in service in 1925 sounds a bit doubtful, so let's assume that the letter was at first transported from Leningrad to Moscow. --Michael Romanov (talk) 20:59, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I found the following information in Deruluft:

Deruluft opened its first permanent airlink between Moscow and Königsberg (via Kaunas and Smolensk) on 1 May 1922.[1] It started a new route between Berlin and Leningrad (via Tallinn) on 6 June 1928, and maintained both routes until 31 March 1936.

So, in 1925 it could be only the flight from Moscow to Berlin. --Michael Romanov (talk) 21:12, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
