UK sign colour[edit]

The colours I chose for the signs that are part of Category:Diagrams of road signs of the United Kingdom is R236 G29 B36     . This is because when I downloaded the signs from the UK sign database (http://www.dft.gov.uk/trafficsignsimages/) the attached txt file states the proper RGB color:

Main colour Pantone (print) CMYK equivalent (print) RGB equivalent (screen view)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Red
(e.g. warning signs) 186 C0 M100 Y100 K0 R236 G29 B36

This is somewhat contradicted from their own User Guide which states red is:

  • Pantone: 186
  • CMYK equivalent: C0 M100 Y81 K4
  • RGB equivalent (screen view): R227 G24 B55

Given the Pantone is the only consistent thing, we might want to use that color. Using the Pantone color finder, we get R198 G12 B48     .

40+ signs are using this color, so I would like to see some consensus before making any changes. --Svgalbertian (talk) 17:01, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is another image like this that I thought I was tagging, but it was subject to editwars. I will share this information and figure something out. I wasn't looking to change everything, but this helps. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 18:10, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is the image. User:Bidgee cleaned up the history. --Svgalbertian (talk) 19:54, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
