"Vere" of 1811[edit]

As noted on the talk page of the now usurped File:Barque "Vere" by Samuel Walters.jpg, by the time of this painting in 1833, the 1811-built Vere was still in service and made one round trip that year from Liverpool to West African ports: sailed 12 March and returmed 24 October (recorded in published newspapers). Anglesey is on the shipping track for those voyages. There was another barque "Vere" at the same time, built in 1833 at Sunderland, but she made her first departure from London for Jamaica, about 6 October 1833, and would not have been in the Anglesey area.

Worth also noting that Walters was Liverpool-base painter and that the 1811 vessel was both owned and registered there. Davidships (talk) 14:13, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
