this file can't be public domain! its copyright hasn't expired yet, it's just 40 years old.--Ampfinger (talk) 12:05, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have anything supporting this claim ? The Lion is hardly suitable for copyright because it's a very old historic design. --Denniss (talk) 16:08, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
1860 has used a lion since the 1880s. over the years the shape of the lion changed many times. this particular lion with its frame and numbers was published and used for the first time in 1973. --Ampfinger (talk) 09:44, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
But that doesn't justify a deletion as similar (heraldic) images are in use for hundreds of years. --Denniss (talk) 11:18, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
so every heraldic figure with a lion is public domain, because the lion by itself has been used for centurys? no matter how various the emblems are?
i don't want the file to be deleted, i just don't believe it can be licensed as public domain. --Ampfinger (talk) 13:41, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
