The figure caption is not the place to discuss something complex like the link (if any) between sunspot number and global climate. Also, "It is widely believed that the low solar activity during the Maunder Minimum may be among the principal causes of the Little Ice Age" is not accurate. Also "Little Ice Age.... Temperatures dropped by 1.8 to 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit (1 - 1.5 degrees Celsius)." This is a huge overestimate based on the most recent climate reconstructions. (It's at most 0.5 K.)
